TV cabinet to American Girl Dollhouse

My daughter is into American Girl dolls now (along her Barbie's, maybe I'm the one that's into them) so I decided to make her a dollhouse.  I saw several posts on how to make them including some plans on how to build it from Ana White.  As I was searching I also found some people who made one from a old TV cabinet.  I showed both to my husband and he said NO.  Later, we went to the Habitat for Humanity Restore and ran across this TV cabinet.  He jumped on the thought that he wouldn't have to build anything.

I'll post the finished product later.

American Girl Doll and clothes

My daughter recently discovered American Girl dresses.  As you know, the clothing is rather pricey so I decided to make her some clothing.  I must admit that I'm having FUN making. I'm going to get plenty of practice because she wants to add on to her AG doll collection. She currently has 2 but already has a few named AG dolls on her list.

I made this doll from fabric scrap that I had left over from other projects.  The pink part was the sleeve cuff from a women's top (see the Halloween post below).

I made this dress and a headband to match.

Cutting table continued

Not quite finished, but here's a looked my new cutting table.  I found a board for $3 at the same store that I covered in fabric and place on top. My table is 30 x 60 and currently about inches in height.  I plan to add wheels to it to make it taller and easy to move.  My table has to reside in the corner due to space issues but (when necessary) it can be moved for my cutting and sewing needs.

Cutting table

I decided that I wanted a permanent cutting table so I went to my local Restore. This is what I found.

A cabinet that had a former life as men's tie storage.
I even found a few neckties when I removed the drawer.
The cabinet needs a little work like adding a counter top. I'll posted the finally product later

Neckband case

I've been away from the blog but not from sewing, I've made a few things in the last few months but nothing major.  I decided to log in to show my latest craft, a neckband holder.  I made this because I don't want my neckband to break when I pull it out of my ultra messy purse.
